What could be more precious than capturing images of your new baby for you to treasure forever? A Newborn Photography Shoot captures some priceless moments of your child in their first few weeks of life. Images that can be displayed as beautiful pieces of bespoke art around your home. I am able to document how small they are! For the only time in their lives they fit perfectly into your hands. I will capture those little tiny hands and feet and even those first “windy” smiles! Moments for you to revisit and share with family and friends – and one day your baby!
In order to capture the best shots of your precious little one I would recommend that the shoot takes place in baby’s first 2 weeks. Ideally between 5-10 days old. At this point they are very sleepy and still have that gorgeous newborn look about them. I have completed training with one of the worlds best newborn photographers and understand how to pose a baby safely. Their safety is my priority. I will work with your baby to get beautiful shots but will never force them into a position that is unsafe or uncomfortable for them. If it is not possible to take the shots in those first 2 weeks, a shoot can still be booked up to the 4th week after baby is born. These may be more awake style shots and the posing will be much simpler.
As it is impossible to pinpoint the exact date your little one will decide to arrive, it is a good idea to contact me in your second trimester to book in a provisional date for your shoot. This date may well have to change nearer the time but I do try to be as flexible as possible – I understand completely the challenges and complications that a new bundle of joy can bring!
The newborn photography sessions take place at my studio in Thetford. The studio is equiped with gorgeous props for you to choose from for the shoot and typically I will aim to do 4 set ups to give you a variety of images. The temperature will be very warm, between 25-28 degrees celcius. This is to keep your baby as comfortable as possible as they cannot yet regulate their temperature and need to be warm whilst they are undressed for the duration of the shoot.
After the session I will professionally edit a gallery of 20 images. Many people are often worried that their baby has developed flaky skin or spots. This is completely normal for a newborn and part of them adjusting to being away from the womb. I use special editing techniques to even their skin tones and remove anything that may be too distracting from the photos. Your images will be beautifully prepared and ready for you to view at your viewing session where you can choose your favourite images to take home.
For your peace of mind I have completed safety training which is produced by some of the world’s best baby photographers.
